Not sure about the law but the longer you run, the longer your sentences will be. Sort of like how the IRS or creditors are keeping tabs on you on the low. They be adding that interest fees at the end of your debt.
I don't think she should do jail time. If she ran on purpose then yes, running from the law or hit n run from an accident is a crime. However, if she would of just stayed n man up and said opps, it wasn't intentional, she might get a lighter sentencing with cheaper fines. Now she's in a tough situation. Comparing her to a deliberately naked streaker on the field who premeditated the act, the crime don't fit the punishment. She made a mistake, got spook n ran.
