February 2014 Photo Assignment: "HEARTS"
Submission deadline: February 22.
Some guidelines for your consideration:
- Since this is a photography assignment, we want to get people to go out and shoot NEW PHOTOS. No previously shot photos will be accepted. This promotes new ideas, new visions, a new perspective so you can move outside of your comfort zone for a minute and explore otherwise new content for yourself and your style. It also lets you see other people's work and style on the same subject.
- You can submit only ONE photo for each assignment. So choose wisely.
- Keep image sizes to manageable sizes so viewers don't have to scroll over to see the entire photo. (800px wide should be ok for most monitors)
- Remember that this is a photography assignment, not a photoshop/editing assignment. Content and subject is more important than processing.
- PM me with your photo so we can keep the voting anonymous to avoid any biased voting for members. After the voting ends, we will then reveal the member by their photo (if you wish).
- Upon a tie in votes, then the deciding factor will be made on a coin flip. The person who submitted their photo first will get to call it.

Yes, after consideration, we wanted to keep people shooting so new photos only please. It's not a portfolio contest, as I'm sure everyone has a large external drive worth of photos.
But you can always "recreate" the photo, maybe even add a few new things you've learned along the way. O0

look past the heart? that means that its the first one. if anyone understands what that litterally means. too many hearts in 3&5. #2 has one heart and a half heart? so it can't be "the heart." you really can't look pass #4 cause its one heart. so process of elimination, i arrived at calypso's pic. am i right?? :idiot2: :idiot2: :idiot2:

If you take a closer look at this picture, the left hand is not the same hand as the right hand. The left hand is from a hmong chick and the right hand is yours truly. Together, we formed a heart. The sun represented the everlasting sun or the burning of the sun. We take that everlasting burn and we put it inside our hearts. Together, our everlasting love will not die.
Thank you for those who voted for #1. You guys have good artistic eyes. I have no idea how those of you hmongs can vote for a half a cup of tea. I mean that heart, it is like barely there. It is like if you look at a toothpick for an hour and trying to figure out with end is the top and which is the bottom. ha :2funny:
Reason why this will be my last entering in any ph contest for the obvious reason right?

Calypso has requested that her prize be donated to charity. So $25 has been donated to the Hunger Task Force, which will be matched with another $25 by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation on March 13th for a total of $50.
I'll post receipt once the donation is processed on Thursday. O0
