I can't believe the animated one came out in 1991.

I heard about Mulan.  I'd love to see that too.

That's the old beast.  The last beast, the one in the animated version, was Robby Benson.  But yeah, I think they did well with Emma Watson.  I wonder who they've picked to play the beast.  It's funny how they make that part a mystery for us.

Can't wait!

Hope i'll enjoy it more than Cinderella.

I think it will be way better than Cinderella because I think they'll be using a ton of CGI, which I am in favor of.  That seems to be the thing in this day and age.

It better be Ron Perlman!

He's so old tho.  They need new talents.  ;D

So, I saw the musical yesterday.  It was nice but it was a smaller production.  I remember it was much larger with a full orchestra back in the days (early 20's) when I knew the drummer of the orchestra (whom roomed with the conductor...go t to meet him too...awesome man!).  The musical back then was amazing with special effects and all.  This smaller one was okay but it was still enjoyable.  As for worth it...eh...it was too expensive for what it was.  Times have changed.  :-\

Dang... they can't get any actress that's prettier?
Will be a waste of time...

Attractive women don't come a dime a dozen. It's not like you can go out to some supermarket and just photograph random attractive women.

I was dubious when I found out who they cast for the parts but when I saw the table reading, I changed my mind. I think this movie is going to be great. Can't wait.

Sorry to dig this up but just excited to share that I bought tickets for this show two weeks ago.  It's getting so close!!!

After watching all the clips and trailers...I'm realizing that I don't know if I'll like Emma Watson as Belle so much.  She is cute but not pretty the way I always thought belle should be.

It was a really fun movie.  The CGI was great, the singing wasn't so bad and so was the acting.  It was well done.

I was a bit sad about them removing the most important part of the story where the beast tells Belle not to go to the west wing.  When she does enter the west wing and he catches her, he says: "Why did you come here?" and "I warned you never to come here."

When she replies, "I didn't mean any harm," he replies back with,

"Do you realize what you could have done?" and then with, "Get out!"

To me, I think that part made the story so I was a bit bummed about it, but overall, I enjoyed it.

I never cared for this fairytale even before it became one of Disney's biggest animation hits.

It's so pretentious and filled with leftist hypocrisy.

Basically, two attractive people end up with each other and are king and queen. Really? How is that suppose to be a good moral lesson?

Did the beast really learn his lesson about kindness when he ends up winning the heart of the most attractive girl in the village?

The lesson should be that he fell in love with an average-looking girl with a heart of gold who taught him that kindness trumps the physical exterior. That is what breaks his curse - not a beautiful girl who was obviously spoiled with praise, attention, and admiration from the villagers. Yeah, I know they try to say that Belle was kind but let's face it, it's easier to see an attractive person as kind as long as they aren't a total biatch. There are even studies illustrating this.

I like "The Little Mermaid" (the old one where she actually dies) a lot more.
