All 5 crew members and the captain survived
I don’t blame them for saving their own skin instead of their passengers
I would do the same thing
Better them then me

Aint trying to be the hero

read your news again.
Only reason why they survived it because they were on top deck and was able to jump ship. All those down the cabin were probably burnt to death, in their sleep.
This case is still under investigation and if it is ruled out as an accident, sad accident indeed.
Lets see who is liable. This korean captain here went to prison for life in their previous incident

that boat was probably in poor maintenance condition/unsafe to have it burned.
there is no excuse for a captain and his crew to abandon ship while there is still people on board.
it doesn't take but seconds to open the door and evacuate the ship.
if you're mentality is to save your own skin, you should not work in positions where you are liable for people lives.

that boat was probably in poor maintenance condition/unsafe to have it burned. ---- Most if not all reports indicate inspections were up to date. Part of the hull was constructed from fiber glass and wood so yeah, wood burns.
there is no excuse for a captain and his crew to abandon ship while there is still people on board. ---- Reports suggest the guest quarters may have been below deck, next to where the fire may have started in the engine bay. Also reported was that crew members tried to go below deck but because of the fire, they were unsuccessful in rescuing the guests.
it doesn't take but seconds to open the door and evacuate the ship. ---- See above.
if you're mentality is to save your own skin, you should not work in positions where you are liable for people lives. ---- Self preservation. If in any situation where you die or a stranger does, are you implying you would choose the latter option? Except for a very select few and their line of work, not many would be as willing as you.

Me, myself, and I
NOT surprised to hear from someone that had no problems going "underground" to steal from the poor as well as give them "spoilage" food...
