From the looks of it, koj tus hunny hlub koj ma. Maybe instead of making him tell you he loves you, just pay attention to the things he does for you. Not everyone is good with their words so sometimes they rely on their actions and behavior to do the talking.

My hunnie has a hard time displaying affection. When he says he loves me he has to smile in a shy way while saying those words. I wish I could find a way to help him so he can overcome this affliction. His parents are not affectionate toward each other so he's never really had good role models as far as showing affection and love and stuff. I know he feels it in his heart; I just wish it weren't so hard for him to express it.
I think majority of Hmong men, depending on the age of your husband has a hard time displaying affection. And factors that contribute to him being like that could very well be what you mentioned above. Slowly work on him, he'll open up eventually. ;D
