Title: XP games on Windows 7?
Post by: jbutton on June 25, 2010, 07:00:26 PM
I want to play games and might install Windows 7.  But if Windows 7 can't play old games like doom 3, quake 4, fear 2 then I might very well stick to Windows XP.

Any experience?

I run windows 7 64bit and my games works just fine. I can still play Age of Empire I and many of my old games. For some old DOS games, you can install DOS Box to play. Old DOS games are DOOM I and II.

Windows 7 works so much better than XP. Very little problem with any software.

I couldn't run resident evil 4 and far cry 2.  well, both versions are cracked versions.

FAR CRY 2 runs great for me.

Have you tried right-click and Run as Administrator? Sometimes that work for a few of my games. I had problem running Crysis Warhead, but it turned out that my memory timing and FSB in BIOS was not set correctly.
