Title: No, they are not just like California

..as I've been to all of them. With that said, Portland, OR is the closest but still not "just like" CA IMO:

I think they are referring to the 'wokeness' or 'Leftie/Demmie dominated politics' or 'soft on crime' just like CA in these places.
