Awe...you know what I say.  Buy both and come tell me which one is better after a year's review.  ;D

Sometimes one just needs to go sit down in the car and test drive.

The real villain is looking at you.  The last hero was just not true.  If everything works out in the end.  It's because all things make amends.

The Subaru is superior.

We Hmong love Toyota’s. But the RAV4 does not come with the comfort and high-class appearance of the Subaru.

Subaru’s are just as reliable as Toyota’s. (There are others but you’re comparing only these two anyway.)

I’ll say go with Toyota, dependability is what you will get.

The Subaru is built with superior 4W drive when activated. Good for girl who might be stuck in the snow.

I say wait until next year and assess again because car prices are just over inflated now but if I have to choose between those, rav 4 trd would be my choice.

Depending on your taste bud.

What are you?  A revolt generation gal?  If you drive a rav 4, you are gonna be a typical azn face like that of a hmongrock who has a rav 4.

If you live in a redneck land, subaru might blend you in with the white wash crowd and this is talking with looks and imaging stance.

Now with reliability, toyota is known for something that can last you a long time and if you drive high mileage and don't take care of your car because you are a typical girl then toyota will take you there and that is if you are the type that wants to buy and keep a car forever.

Fun to drive, offroad, hills, 4 wheel, outdoors, snow,  Id go with the subaru.

Once again, it all depends on your taste and you only know yourself so buy accordingly.

If it was up to me and considering you driving 10K miles a year, I would just lease it and get a new one every 3 years or do this tactics and you gotta keep the tactics in order for it to work for the long haul.  What you do is buy any of of those, drive it to 100k miles and you trade it in for another new one.  At 100k miles, it is easier to sell them used vehicles.  You don't even have to do maintenance at all.  Let the next guy to deal with the maintenance as with all vehicles, time vs mileage = parts starting to die.  There is a reason why the warranty ends in X amount of mileage.  They already know that an important parts to your vehicle will die after that warranty is up.  It is a balancing act so don't get stuck out there on the road. Flip it before it happens.   O0

Personally I would go with the Toyota Rav4, that's if you can afford the highly inflated car prices right now. If you can hold off for now, I would suggest you do so or until prices come back down to reasonable.

Subarus: Pro - Their superior all-wheel drive system. Con - Their boxer engine. It's a pain in arse to work on and expensive too.

Toyota: It's known for it's overall superior resale value and head above water quality and reliability.
