Sold on Craigslist, a cruise ship is being restored

Built in the 1950s to carry tourists on day trips from the German port of Hamburg, the cruise ship looked bound for the scrap heap, until Chris Willson found the Aurora for sale on Craigslist. Today, his 293-foot ship (which once played a Bond villain's yacht) is parked near Stockton, Calif., surrounded by blueberry fields, and is being carefully restored. Correspondent Luke Burbank reports.

yup good ol 8 miles road area. 

Back in them days, they were thinking of changing the name of that road.  Locals business were fighting to keep it as is due to how iconic it was and it serves their local businesses, farmers and marinas better. 

hwy 4 charter way has already been changed to martin luther king way but those who knows still calling it by charter way.   Like uncle hoe chi minh city.. nope, she is still Saigon to us.

I remember that Eight Mile Road name change proposal...

and have stopped by Oak Grove park for many events like birthdays, and of course the Asparagus Festival when it was held there...Had to park on the Lodi side and walked over but close enough..

Speaking of the Delta, that's where many Hmong folks go for stripers and sturgeons...
