Went down to the local WalMart the other night and they had the Abu Garcia Revo S on sale for $73!   Not bad considering that BPS sells them for $130.

 :)

abu=junk.  But to each their own.   ;)

Jason, if you think about it quadrabeam is only useful in deep water.  If you fish shallow like most of us do the quadrabeam isn't going to help much with the coverage area.

Well yeah but if you want to put it that way then any 2D sonar is junk in shallow waters - which is some what true. At least with the quadrabeam you still get a bit more coverage even if its in 3ft of water lol. The regular transducer 83/200khz is priced between $50-70 bucks... the quadra beam is retail around $80 bucks.... I can get the quadrabeam for around $60 bucks so I'll probably shoot for it.

and trust me.. if i can afford it, I'd get an 1197SI on the console and put my 997SI on the bow... that would be a dream!!!

Ugh.. just thinking about pool 4 makes me nervous... i got my hull scrapped up some from last year too. :(

come look at the bottom of my boat.  when I bought it the guy had the bottom gelcoat refinished, brand spanking new, now there are scratches all over.  thats why they call it boating i guess. ;D

What brands do you guys use for mono/fluro/braid?

I go cheap.  ;D  Berkley Big Game or anything I can find on the clearance rack for under $2 for mono.  Don't use fluro, Powerpro for braid-lasts me 3-4 years, 50-80lbs test.   :)

Picked up Skeet's 7' Tessera cranking rod ($67 dollas).... everyone's first thoughts are always, "too flimsy" but ends up loving it (in reviews)... Hopefully I feel the same. Picked up a good BPS Pro Qualifier reel with a gear ratio of 4.7.1 for it. Can't fuggin wait damn it...  >:(

I don't think I'll ever see my self with a yellow rod but do give a review on how you like it once you get a chance to use it a few times....
