^excellent. Let me see what you come up with.  :)

ugh.. next on my list: A new cranking battery. Mine started to die at the end of the season last year... it was a shitty carquest battery I bought last minute because my original cranking battery died while I was prefishing the wabasha tourney. You guys have any suggestions?

Ideally, Reserve Capacity should be over 180 minutes and CCA should be 800-1000.
i run 3 cabela's agm class 27 n a walmart yellow 1000 ca everstart for cranking....

Rick, does that walmart 1000ca everstart battery have any reserve capacity? If so how many minutes is it rated at?

I just picked up a group31 battery at batteriesplus for under $100. cca = 600ish, ca = 800ish and RC = 225 minutes. That should be sufficient for my engine. My main concern is to be able to have a battery with a lot of Reserve Capacity that can take a lot of load with all our electronics/live-well/water pumps that we run for 8+ hours during any given day.

aah.. i been reading a lot about specs. They say reserve capacity is just as important as cranking amps - especially for a cranking battery since we have all our electronics plugged into it.

Do you all take out your batteries and keep them indoors (while charging them) during winter?
