Trust me, it all comes with a price to pay..
Somehow, this year, my wife had it so that I agreed for her to take 3 trips with the girls, WITHOUT ME!!

Its ok, though. More fishing time for me without the nagging  :2funny:

Well, 3 years of BWCA trips she's been ok that's b/c she setup for 300 shopping trips. "I'm going to the mall" One squeak from me and response is, "Come on, I let you go to bwca". "My back hurts, can you give me a massage, come on, I bought you a boat for your birthday." The list goes on bro, so there's no such thing as "no strings attached".  ;D

Hey guys, not sure if this is any of you selling but I saw a Gloomis 7' 5" GLX flipping stick Heavy Action for $315 on craigslist, minneapolis/st. paul. This retails for $490. I own one myself and hauled fish right out of the grass/cat tails/bull rush/lilly pads with the roots still attached. This is a powerful rod with a very strong backbone but yet soft enough tip to cast frogs. Just thought I share this in case anyone is interested.

I can haul fish out of Lilly pads and grass with my 6' 6" MH but have you ever caught fish in thick bullrush, fish under thick milfoil patches or cat tails? Tough bro! Long, heavy rods is a must.

Anyway, just thought I share that rod for sale to those who might be interested.

I just replaced one of the mounts on my rig.  I have a Ram Mount for grabs if anyone is interested.

Model:RAM-B-111U
Specs:6.25 X 2 Inches with 1" Ball

It was used on the bow, attached to a Lowrance LMS522i.  Includes base, arm and mounting plate.

$20 locally

what is a bull rush?

bulrush are sometimes confused with cattails. They look very similar except they don't have a darkbrown bud shape like a cat's tail at the tip and grow in deeper water, sometimes up to 10' where as cattails grow in shallow water. Bulrush tends to grow much condense and thicker than cattails. They are much tougher that is why I would rather use something like a 7' 5" Heavy rod w/65lb braided when fishing in these conditions. I prefer a 7' 10" but it gets too heavy up there.

Anyway, good luck with your mount for sale.

Yes! Those are bulrush. They are all over in the Alexandria lakes.

Yessir. Easy to distinguished. Cats are shallow with tails. Bul's are deep with no tails.

those are not bulrushes. those are cattails.

cattails sprout many straight long flat leaves from one base, some also growing a flower(corndog). cattails only grow in shallow water and the surfaces above the water as tall as 8 feet.

bulrushes sprout individual round stems with a flower on almost each stem. bulrush can grow in both shallow n deeper water and usually surface above the water by 4 feet.
