spent a few hours up north north on the croix Sunday.  Nice and cold, saw a few snow flakes wind blowing right up the river.

Isn't it pretty darn shallow up there? I always canoe/kayak around taylors fall area and there are times when we have to get out of the canoe and drag it across a sand bank....  :-\

20mph with a 60' roostertail.

Taylors falls. I've traveled from O'brian to Taylor's falls....its a long hull and during summers, its skinny water. Blah, did the cliffs block any wind at all?

It is fairly shallow up that way.  I've got tracks up that way.  I enjoy fishing up north on the croix more than south croix, less crowds but more hazardous stuff up that way.  The cliffs didn't do much for the winds, it was still windy.  Atleast the smallies were biting, right next to the walleyes and whitebass.   O0
