Nah... when you have the ducer on the trolling motor it's not as bad because your not running in 1-3 ft of water blindly (like you would ur main motor)..... when its on ur trolling motor, u run slower and ur able to see what's in front of you.

I think maybe you had your old ducer too low on the transom/hull... that's why it kept getting damaged... i've had my hull/pad scrap against rocks and boulders before... my hdsi ducer is still in very good shape.

i've hit submerged logs with my tm, used my tm as a shallow water anchor on rocks or under bridges..... O0

lol you crazy then... i've use mine for shallow water anchor too but only on sand and/or a muddy flat. So you've had a transom transducer mounted on your trolling motor before? If so, how did you have it mounted?

nope, always use puck style ducers and now have ducer shield on there with a broken ducer in place, works great.  O0

what I'm thinking is, when are they going to have touchscreen units and the i-pad version? Surf the net, watch video...etc.? Shoot, they need one b/c my kids get bored.

yup with an underwater camera built in, HD, Surround sound, Netflix, MIcrowave Oven, Refridgerator. ... PlayStation Network.....oh the endless possibilities!!

LOL!! I'm not asking for a microwave or fridge but one with a touch screen and built in screen, compatible for underwater cam just like ice fishing would be awesome!
