Poor man's power-pole / talon? What do you guys think?

This seems like less maintenance, less usage of batteries, less weight and very affordable. If you don't want to pay $1000 for a pp or talon, don't like to carry a heavy anchor and get rope rub on the side of your boat, this might work for you @ 10x less the cost.

Does this only work for shallow end waters? what if you're fishing like 30-40 feet for walleyes? Will this type of anchor still be useful/work?

Nope... all these pole type anchors are only for 8ft or less of water. With this method, you can probably hold yourself in 30-40 feet of water if you're willing to carry a 30-40 feet pole....  ;)

^God damn I'm jealous! Congrats on the first day... must be pretty satisfying. You catch them pretty shallow? (spawning bass?) Or did you get them kinda deep? (Still pre-spawn?)

Also, did you capture water temps?

Well my sonar read 15 ft...but we were casting as shallow as 4 ft and dragging the rig back to the boat....they were pretty picky....they wouldn't chase the lure...it was almost like u had to throw it right it there face!  Water tempature as of 7am was at 50.3 degrees....the n as the day went by my sonar was acting dumb!  And yes, jelous is the correct term!  Only a few states in US have a open and close season for game fish!
