Wish i could say the same... I usually have to pump before each lake.  :-[

my boat only goes 45mph (GPS) max. LOL I usually go about 35 - 40.

You guys think I will get better perfomance out of her if I change the plugs? I've never changed the plugs in 4 years

I had a buddy change his plugs on his 115merc and he got 4 -5 more mph...

Find out what your motor RPM is. If you're not hitting it's max RPM, something is not right. But if you want to go faster, get a bigger pitch but in doing that you'll have to sacrifice holeshot.

According to Suzuki, max RPM on your outboard is 6200. Next time when you're WOT and reached your max speed, watch your RPM. If it doesn't reach 6200 or near it, you're not getting the max potential.

What's your current pitch right now?

My RPM's top out at 6200.

I have a 14 x 19 suzuki aluminum prop on it now.

It'd be interesting to see a woman be as passionate as you guys are about this whole fishing thing.   :o

She'd be almost perfect if she loved to fish and knew how to fix cars, huh?   ;)

I would go ahead and do maintenance, change oil, lube, plugs and then run it. Move up a pitch to a 20 to see if you could pick up a few mph. If it doesn't work, you could always return it.

Did you add more weight to the boat? Sometimes adding extra weight, anchors, fishing equipment, etc 30-100lbs will loose mph too b/c your hull is dragging in the water.

Awww?? No i prefer my woman to be feminine and girly. If she stops shopping = old, stained clothes, not attractive. No more perfume and lotion = smelly. No more nails = dirty, nasty nails, turn off....and the list goes on.

There's your problem. j/k. If you went from 49 to 40mph, then 15lbs weight gain is not the problem. GPS isn't always accurate but only 1-3 give or take. Regardless, I recommend changing the plugs, oil and lubes and try running her tournament loaded. Once with your 19 pitch and once with a 20 pitch. You should see a big difference in holeshot and top speed. Give us an update once you've done this.

When I first bought my 165 Navigator. I took it out, it did 36-37mph. Then I started loading her up with life jackets, an anchors, fishing rods, tackle boxes, rain coats, net, push pole and extra battery and I was only getting 33-34mph.

Boat needs more lift if Jimmy wants to go faster. I say add NOS but i don't think Jimmy is up for it.
