In my old age, I am also learning to embrace my femininity.  No matter what, there is no doubt in anyone's mind that we are women and not men... so a confident women who isn't afraid of being a woman is probably going to come across as being stronger than one who is hiding herself.

Snow here in this wonderful state of ours, it only took me 2 1/2 hours to get to work this morning. But of course, I had time to snap a photo before I left the house. 

Kind of a blah-day for me. Blame it on the weather.

Black blouse, Target. Chunky cardigan, F21. Black slacks, Banana Republic. Gray heels, Zara.

It's super cold here but I decided to put on a dress today. Thank god for downtown skyways. 

This is also one of my favorite 'little black dress'. It's a sleeveless sheath style. I've had it for maybe 11 yrs. Hahaaa...yes, it's old. But I love the classic fit and simplicity of it. I've worn it to a wedding, a funeral, parties, and to work. I purchased it from Banana Republic and have it dry clean. It still looks new!

Added a black cardigan and a orange/red belt today.

Sheath dress, Banana Republic. Cardigan, Gap. Belt, F21. Heels, Zara.

Today is our company Christmas Potluck so I am thinking that all the big boss would be there to put in some time.  While I wanted to be noticed, I don't want to be viewed as more than someone who knows what she is doing and a force to be reckon with.  So while I was trying to find something to wear, I had to discard many options.  Red is a very typical color, so I decided not to wear red.  Leather can be seen as both positive or negative.  So, I turn to my trusty interview jacket and pair it with a pair of black slacks, but I didn't want to be too dark so I decided to go with a bright turquoise shirt.


1.  Ellen Tracy double breasted black with grey variation blazer.
2.  The Limited Cassidy black slacks.
3.  Worthington blue button-down shirt ($2 from JC Penny).
4.  Black born heels.
5.  Blue opal necklace and earrings.
6.  Diamond bracelets.
7.  Rose gold watch.
8.  Emerald wedding ring set.
