In my opinion Love is a needs not just a want.

Human beings are social and crave interactions/connections with others/things. For these essential functions to occur on a positive level love is needed.

We might be able to breathe and function without love, but is life worth living?

If that's the case, all we need id food.  That kaydookie that help those kidnapped victims,  15 restaurant will give him a free burger everyday for the resr of his life.  How awesome is that.  Free food till you die.

I think the other thing to consider is that perhaps sometimes the love we want may not be good for us. There isn't a need for that love, but we want it nonetheless.
