Children should never witness their parent's affairs.
Children should never have to handle their parent's divorce.
Children should never have to take over their parent's debt.
Children should never become the parent of their own parents.

--

I have not had a good night's sleep in weeks and constantly worry about everything. I look around me and it's all in shambles.

^ I agree with you.

Children should just enjoy being children.

Today I went to buy coffee and this elderly couple in front of me paid for my drink.  I went to thank them and we all shared a great morning as strangers.  They were really sweet.  They thought I looked like a Chinese baby girl that they used to babysit for their neighbor.

All that made me thought of my old next door neighbors who used to call me princess because my family (house) was the only one with kids and I was the only girl on the street.  My brothers would go cut the grass for our neighbors for a couple of dollars during the summer and sometimes help shovel the snow on the sidewalk during the winter.  I remember going out to play and always visiting the neighbors pretending that I'm just checking on my brothers (LOL) when I really just wanted to go see their house.

It was just a lovely morning.  I wonder if my neighbors are still around...and just that thought made me kind of sad all of a sudden.

Since today has been kind of slow, my co-worker came into my office to chat.  Then she told me how her daughter just got asked to go to prom and how she's more excited about prom than her daughter....he he. She described the gown they have picked out for that night and how her daughter has never used make-up.  Then she asked me if I would be willing to do her daughter's make-up for prom.

My first thought...EXCI TED!  My second thought...I DON'T KNOW MAKE-UP!  My third thought...I'M GOING TO RUIN SOMEONE'S PROM!

Vacations are a good way to step back and take a breath. Don't let yourself get burnt out :)

Why is it that when you gain weight, it never distributes to where you want it?

As one of my friends once said to me, "If I'm going to be fat, why can't I have big boobs?"  :D ;D

Yesterday night, I was over at my parent's house and was helping my mom clean my father's filing cabinet.  It was in that cabinet that I found my father's ESL books back in the 80s, his diploma, pictures of his graduation and friends.  I found bank statements, copies of bill payments, financial letters he had written, and carbon copies of his personal paychecks.  The best part of it was seeing the development and transformation of his hand writing.

All of this is a reminder that the struggle is real. Development of oneself is cruicial to continue to live, love, and give.
