When You're Gone
« on: March 08, 2011, 06:06:32 PM »
Resting on the evening navy pastures,
I remember lazily gazing into your eyes,
Yours wander into the empty expanses,
Somewhere I couldn't fathom as you sit frozen like ice,
So still like a statue with only your pupils slowly darting,
The gleam in your eyes dancing about its own ballad,
And your face mellow with the only sound of your faint breathing,
But it is just that and more in which I find comfort without aversion so pallid.

My eyes fall heavy and threaten to collapse
Into a slumber of dreams
But I know if I surrender to the ache in a quick wisp
I'd fail to have a few more moments with your very being and seams
That make up who you are 'cause I hate it when you're gone
Out of reach and out of sight
Even before the breaking of dawn
When just before, the piercing coldness devours night
Thirsting the warmth and sunlight
Like the deserts deprived of hydration,
As every hopeful grain of sand miss the raindrops if rain it might,
And as every forlorn piano in the shadows longing for a symphonic composition
May hint but cannot describe what it feels like in your absence.
