I am afraid of time. - From Interstellar.

When you want nothing, then you're free from such fears.

Why was marriage invented hundreds of thousands of years ago….so that we don’t kill each other like the lions, rams or elephants.

I am most happy when I am not at rest, but when I am of use to others.

"It cost a lot — was a big number," Shouraboura says with a slight laugh. "That's customer obsession for you. That situation taught me a lot very quickly. They still adhere to that philosophy today."

Its all about the customers.

Enlightenment is understanding. ...it is being able to remove all your fears, desires, and egos aside to make a decision with objectivity.

Applying the Happiness Equation:

H = R – E(R)

My E(R) = 6, I will not settle for it to be less than that or else, I will stop.  In reality, I want E(R) of 8, but I know that that is not realistic now.

When you are with me and vying for my attention and saying all that good stuff, it makes it seem like it’s a 9.  Then you turn around later and tells me that you did and this or that, and someone said something about you, and I am thinking why would you put yourself in that situation, my reality becomes -4, because mistrust and confusion has set in.  Our overall reality becomes (9-4)/2 = 2.5.

H = 2.5 – 6 = -3.5.

My favorite Wiggles song, from having to watch countless hours of it with my girls.

How can I make this better for everyone?

IF I were to move to friendship only, then my Happiness Equation becomes:

H = R – E(R)

My E(R) = 0, because I want nothing from you.  Our contribution our friendship will be greater than zero, let’s call it 1.

H = 1 – 0 = 1, almost perfect.

I can't love you anymore, let's smooth it over and become friends only, unless you work at it and help me to correct reality.

You are unfair my silly friend. Regardless, I want to preserve the friendship and friendship only.

Listening to too many people has led you to skew your expectations.  These things will correct itself.  It is the law of life.

My cousin called our late aunt to ask for help in ceremony to fix grave for his dad. In modesty (the Hmong way), my aunt said, I don't know how to do it.  My numb nut cousin took it literally and said, you got just got to try.  You're already old, gotta try and learn.  My aunt lost it.  My other cousin had to go put out the fire.  :2funny:
