OMG, I can't believe they intentionally broke a $6000 camera for that movie! I understand Nikon wants their brand recognition but seriously???

What was the gross at opener for such movie?

I am sure they can afford that and much more.  I would rather use a cheaper knockoff though.

It grossed almost 117 million dollars.

The movie is awesome. If you only had to watch only one summer movie this year, this would be it. Three brands will stick to audiences as they walk away: Nikon, IHOP, and Sears.

But still....I love that camera! Cameras that expensive should be handled with extra care. My Nikon is 1/5 the price of the D3x and I don't even let anyone touch it.

I just got back from the movies and saw Man of Steel. OMG...I loved it so much.  Great movie...best ever so far this year for me.

Yes, they did break that Nikon...it was a nice one too.

I read that they grossed 125 million on opening on msn but it's also here: reference.

Sorry to rain on your parade. But it was a Nikon D3s and not a Nikon D3x. Clearly the D3s doesn't cost 6k at the moment since it's been discontinue.

Yes, you are correct kouasupra. Thanks for fact checking! However, amazon.com have it available from $4000 to $7000 just for the body alone.

moonangel, I second that! Man of Steel is definitely one of the best movies so far this summer.

Mr. President, replica or not, it's still expensive....
