Revelation

I've searched far and wide
Still, love I cannot find
A chance at love declined
To be loved denied

I have never felt the warmth of a woman
I'm asking myself the same question
Is love real or just my imagination?
It can't be real it's an illusion

My heart has always been on the line
It's been like that, it has no time to hide
For once, I don't want to be alone on valentine
How does it feel to have two hearts intertwine?

It's a mystery I have yet to uncover
Will I spend my entire life seeking an answer?
I think I'll hang up the banner
Thoughts of love will no longer linger

I put on a smile as a facade
I can't pretend, I'm a fraud
I faced the truth that love doesn't exist
It's not real, it's a myth

I'm destined to be alone
Countless heartbreaks I've experienced on my own
For me, love will never be known
"Loveless" will be marked on my tombstone

Maybe it's because I've had so many romantic disappointment s that I'm no longer surprised when something doesn't work out. In fact in some ways it's almost expected. But the one thing I have learned is to never let go of hope. Hope is the breath of life that runs through our veins.

I have hope for you, Jason. Keep holding on. Just a bit longer.

Here's my "revelation"

You were a hero in my eyes,
My light and shining star.
You were put on a pedestal,
Where you could do no wrong.
You meant the world to me,
My teacher and my commander.
You touched my heart and soul,
Where no one else existed.

Then came that fateful day,
You crushed my hopes and dreams.
My light and shining star,
You once were and are no more.
The pedestal you stood upon,
You fell with no one to catch your fall.
My once ecstatic heart and soul,
You broke and shattered into pieces.

I should have known,
For you are not perfect.
I should have realized,
For you are only human.
I shouldn't have ignored,
For you, my eyes were blind.
I shouldn't have held you so high,
For this was my demise.

You can deny it all you want but once the love bug gets you, you're a goner.      Why surprised?   Many of my poems are analogous to each other.

I hate bugs.  I got bitten a few times and it really hurts.      I'm surprised b/c you actually wrote your version of "Revelation".  This piece was in my mind before the failed collaboration.  Also, I was expecting a different tone from your piece since you wanted the failed collabo to have a more positive feel.

I'm not too fond of bugs neither.   Hehehe.   How can it be failed if it's occurring now?      My piece does have a positive feel to it, maybe not to the reader but to the writer.       Speaking of positive, look who's talking, Mr. Hopeless.  Hehehe.

So you've been bitten before or still suffering from the effects.    It failed b/c you were suppose to start it but gave up so I did it myself.  You followed me.  .  It should of happened months ago.  It wasn't a positive feel to me and we both agreed that it would.  You forgot.   .  I'm positive of what I wrote.

I think we've all been bitten before.       Again, it didn't fail because it's occurring now.  The only time it's a fail is if it didn't occur at all.      All revelations are positive because you learn something from the experience, even though it was or may have been a bad experience.
