Making a hundred friends is not a miracle. The miracle is to make a single friend who will stand by your side even when hundreds are against you.

Today, the first day, I'll start off with "Aishiteru" which translates to "I love you" in Japanese. I am not sure of the dialect, however.

Aishiteru

These days, oh how these days are long and the nights indefinitely daunting.
Each morning, I am scourged by the thought that I may not hear from you.
The plight is inevitable and faith seems faceless, without a smile to cheer us on.

I refuse to be herded by the things they say and do not say.
Sometimes, they make us sad, make us cry, anger us yet,
we should just keep rebounding off the ground they push us upon.
And I know that your heart is as exhausted as mine is,
but with time and by withstanding trials, comes improvement.
Somehow, our love will hold up.

We are going against the current, never an easy task.
It is all painful and it tears me up inside. But knowing that I may lose you,
I hold on even tighter. I am always crying
'cause it makes me ever too sad that you will be sad to be without me.

But we are connected by this sadness and it makes us love
each other all the better. And when we have love,
we only strive for it to be everlasting.
Even when we are finally bidden to be together,
to our last drop of blood, to forever, darling, we will die but this love will not.
To you I say, not "I will love you", not "I have loved you", but aishiteru.

The End

The way things ended, I would have to say it was unfair. I prepared myself for such a long time coming,
as I had done so in my past. Yet, I secretly hoped that this last one would have ended in matrimony.
It was, however, no secret that I loved boundless of depths. In our time of forever, we exchanged beaucoup
letters which I neatly stored in a lidded box. They carefully rest on a closet shelf that I rarely use.
I seem brave but I’m all still too tender to even dare to uncover that box. Piled on another shelf in my
bedroom are a handful of writing pads with lettering indentations created by the pressure of an eager pen.
My fingertips brace the indentations like a Braille reader. The first white lined page, crispy with a texture
like fine fuzz of tree bark, welcomes my hand as I prepare to write yet another letter. Thoughts wrestle
in my mind yet…nothing, the page empty. The writing pad and its entirety patiently await my words.
My blank stares sear that page of indentation. Instilled at the bottom was that quick yet firm stroke of a
heart, something I always signed off with, as opposed to “love”, “yours truly”, or any other mushy things
the human mind comes up with. Moving my gaze to alleviate the sudden dawning agony of precious and
carefully crafted memories, I only found his name atop of the letter. This is the name of the man once
I showered with love, and answered at his any beckoning. In between these two figures, his thicken and
bolded name and that chirpy little heart, like a lover’s mark withstanding rain and shine on a tree trunk,
doting phrases of yesterday call out to me.

Yubnag, I've read some of your work and you are a very talented lady. You can express yourself through your letters and poetries with such visualization.

Oh my goodness! I have never received such encouraging critique! Thank you so much!! I have been writing since I was 12. Being put in ELS classes all the way to college, I strived to improve my English and being an emotional person really helps with expressing myself! Thank you for reading!

You should be very proud of yourself. I can't even write like that. Just let your thoughts flow through your fingers.

Thanks again! I am very critical of my writing because I do not believe that I write well. But thank you for the compliment.

Aww.. the bittersweet taste of broken dreams, I understand all too well. Wishing you only the best.

By the cemetery, no sheets hang.
But you can see what looks like sheets
floating or dancing above the graves.
Yet, the young man took no care to mind
and hurried his way home. Night is dark
as it has been lately. He improvised a torch
made of a branch and dried weeds to lead
him through the dark. And as he came nearer
and nearer to the cemetery, what looked like
sheets, seem to develop limps and trunks.
It was not until the sheets suddenly halted its
floating and noticed him, did he realized,
by the cemetery, no sheets hung.

My good friend had lost her son to suicide recently. I was touched by his death because this is the closet suicide has occurred to me. The tragedy of suicide is that a life could have easily been saved. So when someone comes to you about suicide, validating their feelings is something easily done that could save their life.

Fact: 90% of those who commit suicide have an underlying mental illness. Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S.
Fact: Stigma is a feeling of shame or judgement from someone else; in this case, judged just because they have a mental health condition. Stigma is cited as a primary reason why many people do not seek help when they experience symptoms of mental illness.

The first step to getting help is to SAY IT OUT LOUD. Remember, you are not alone!

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline – Call 800-273-TALK (8255)
http://www.suicidepreventionlifeline.org/

Crisis Text Line – Text NAMI to 741-741

NAMI help line - 1-800-950-NAMI (6264)

Warrior

In your mama’s eyes, you were a warrior. No one knew how long you had been in this war, did you? Your warrior calls did not go unheard but misunderstood. Wounds did not surface on your dermis so we did not see. And finally, you went into that long goodnight as we remain at the threshold wishing to hear your one last cry.

Your mama, she cannot forget you, even if she dies. Her heart has been incinerated the day you separated, and yes, you said you did not want to hurt anyone but here we are, in this situation, stuck in the irony of your proclamation. Still, we pray you have peace in your heart, as we forgive you today and every day. I️ do not want to wear you like a scar but it is the only place I️ will see you anymore. I️ will hear you when the birds sing and touch you in the morning dew because you will never be gone.
