what can i really say about this movie. great musical in a city i love so much. reminds me of a summer spent at UCLA roaming around the tall cities and the beaches. and the jazz just tops it off perfectly. 9/10

I have never been to LA but the film does remind me of my first time moving to a bigger city.  For those that can relate it really gets that feeling of being overwhelmed in a good way out of you.  Unfortunately my taste in jazz music is not very deep and the only person I can name is Yoko Kanno, but I can relate to the feeling of enjoying a certain genre of music that few others around you also enjoy.  The last non-animated musical movie I saw was All Across the Universe and being a huge The Beatles fan I loved how they used the music, but in this case I had to enjoy it through different means.  I do not care for Hollywood romance, but this movie actually ended in a way that didn't make me want to go hang myself.
