Not just languages.  Even the culture n practices to the secret of cooking or martial arts to secrets like Bruce Lee, all gone when people die unexpectedly. 

The elders in the family has so much knowledge so learn all from them, such that when they die, they can die in peace and their knowledge continue to live on.

I should start typing away in Hmong and only Hmong to keep it alive  .  LOL.

In a serious note, I’m glad there’s Hmong las tees and phaj hauj in prints.  The responsibiliti es fall on each and every HaMung parents to decide whether or not to let their kids being lost souls or to embrace being Hmong.  I’ve came across many young HaMung parents who regretted not teaching their children to speak/write Hmong.
