I had to ask because the article leaves that to guessing. And, so, you've guessed. True, all we know is that she's older than 14. That's because the article says her little  brother is 14.

The fact that he's afraid she might get in trouble tells me she's under 18. And I'm guessing, too. lol

Now how did she gets it?  From female friends? From boyfriend if they are sexually active?  From school so then it puts her at the 18+ college level since the health office gives out free Jimmy.

That might depend on the state and sometimes county and city. Some cities just won't let any business sell them at all.

But  then who says you can't have an older friend buy a package and share some with you? Etc.

If she's hiding,...hm...someone else must have given it to her, don't  you think?

But then the traditional Asians are also timid and do not disclose their crushes or guilt easily. Maybe  she's over 18 and not married but losing her virginity and that's why ...well, that's why she's hiding it.
