That may be because the invitations are last-minutes. I've hardly been invited a month or even just two weeks before the actual events but just a day or two before.

I think he should invite us when he's planning to roast a pig or grilling some white bass but not when he's doing jingle bell. Let the shaman event be limited to his family.

But the invitation should come at least one week before the event though.

Are you inviting me hmgrock? Lol

Time.

The country needs to look for other alternatives to fix this problem. I vote for a 4 day work week with 3 days off O0

I enjoy family gatherings/reunions. If I am there, I am one of the 1st there and last to leave. That being said, I only go if I was invited. If it's a notice of a phone call the night before or day of, you will not see me as I live about 1.5 hours away and have prior obligations already.

In the old days, the gatherings would be pact with youngsters and there would be hardly any seats available at the table, but now its the opposite.  As the older generation aged and passed on, the younger generation are just too different and the roles are prioritized.  Most gatherings I've been too consists of younger people at the table. WTH.. Im one of these young ones..lol ;D

Some might not wanna eat pig no more either.  It's bad for the health.

I agree.. And sometimes they take all day.  I'm not saying I come there just to eat.  But i've been to a few that referred to themselves as New Age Shamans, The damn thing lasted 10+ hours.  Just no, I need my weekends.

Nowadays, the opportunity to enjoy meat is just not that appealing anymore. We have an abundance and access to more meat than we can ever eat. It's just not something we would drop other commitments for anymore.

Consider why they don't go to your party.  It is not the free food.  It could be you.  When you a suck azz, people don't want to have anything to do with you.

Consider this.  If people don't like you on pH, what makes you think that people will like you in the real world?
