..before she gets home from work as well as set up some scented candles, and put her favorite book there so it's ready to go during her birthday, Mother's day, Valentine's day or just because day...and take the kid out to the park for a few hours so she has total peace and quiet.

It mainly just cost time and labor not so much $$$...but still hit her spot just right! 

My wife has told me that the return investments on that low/zero cost gift is worth just as much as gifts that cost way more money  :
