When you are being cornered or attacked like they one has to defend themselves. I’m surprise I don’t see any kicking in these self defense.

A prudent street fighter rarely kicks. Real life is not like in the movies or on cartoon video games. Kicking while on uneven grounds can make one lose balance or can open up space for the opponent to take one down. Great fighters can rush into you while your foot lifts up and still coming down or you've missed on a horizontal kick and you can't pull your leg back soon enough to keep your balance for the next move. You can't change position or move for your defense at that very moment.

The way these guys fight, you can tell they aren't trained fighters.  So, it's good they don't kick higher than the knees; they'd lose balance if they did that.

I'm surprised and impressed at these though:1. the White guy is able to take three blows to the jaw before going down (usually one hit will do it), and 2. the Asian guy is able to consistently throw three punches to the same spot--the jaw--very accurately.

It might be best for all of us to wear neck protections. You can tell street fighters always go for the necks. The White guy tried three times at the Asian guy's neck: one was blocked and the other missed (the fist flies right in front of the Asian guy's face). The Asian guy's fists have missed the White guy's jaw five times before he finally took his time to aim better.

When you are being cornered or attacked like they one has to defend themselves. I’m surprise I don’t see any kicking in these self defense.

My first reaction would be a foot to attack or defend. It is the longest defense mechanism in our body. I’ll use my first to protect myself, only strike when it is necessary. Chip down the tree with a foot reporter. Lol

He isn't as fast as you, I'm sure, ProudLao.

My friends and I used to play a kicking game back in Laos during school breaks. Whoever gets up would have to face another kicker. If you don't want to kick or be kicked, you sit down and they leave you alone.

We kicked low. We never fell down. We could keep kicking one another's legs for very long few minutes...Each next day, we had bruised shins but no pain in any other parts of our bodies.

One time I tried kicking a takraw ball that was hanging down from the roof of a firewood barn. The minute I hit it, I realized my back and head were already on the ground, too.

Man, you guys are tough kids lol

I thought all Asians were born naturally knowing how to kick, using elbows, and knees in a fight lol

Takraw is a hard sport to play and it hurts when you kicked it wrong or heading it incorrectly. I give you props for that.

The girls were jumping over rubber band lines while we boys were kicking one another's shins.

That's one mistake we make about Asians: we aren't born with those abilities. Or else we'd all be Muay Thai fighters. We have to train to know how to use our feet, legs, knees, elbows, and heads, etc.

I had to train for takraw in St. Paul. Do you not play it?

No wonder you like soccer so much.

I still like takraw but somehow I don't want my head bumped against a rattan ball anymore.

Kicking is more of a self defense technique with a lot of offensive impact.  For one thing legs are longer than arms.

The real villain is looking at you.  The last hero was just not true.  If everything works out in the end.  It's because all things make amends.

It does not need to be a flying high kick, a jump kick, or even a round house. Just a quick low kick on the ankle, the shin, or knee cap. It’s a good defensive move with a fast low kick or a side jab. I used to practiced that religiously.

I can't punch a person who kicks me.  I can side step or back step or forward step to catch a kicking leg and take the person down in various other ways.  Unless that kick it direct to the head or center mass, it's usually not as effective in real life vs what the movies show.  Experience and skilled fighters knows a lot of methods to absorb and deflect impacts too.  One never knows who that other person is...Real life is no joke, people get hurt easily too.  Just like how that person got knocked out so easily from that one direct punch to the head.
