Anyway, what do you think? Keep the same job where you are with higher pay, but higher living costs and hectic days or move to Wisconsin and get a slightly lower paying job, like 15-20% less, but be in a much cheaper environment?  Assuming all else is not a problem.

For vagina with a pretty face some might go.

If a bad breakup or tarnish my reputation, I may go.

Some places are just vacation theme.  I wouldn't want to live there.  Gotta have my basic foundation for me to live anywhere.

Advice from someone whose made the switch;

-Swallow your pride. I'm making $15-20K less annually than I would be making in a different zip code. Not sure what your situation is but that was the most difficult part of my decision to make and accept.
-Get used to car travel. Places will be further out and drives between cities will be mind numbingly long.
-It's cold. The lake effect off Lake Michigan is real.
-Learn to love the outdoors. You'll need to hit up the Upper Peninsula and Door County in NE WI.
-Housing Market is hot here. Houses sell above market value on the same day in many cases.
-We have more Covid vaccine than people. We've got 'em if you still need 'em.
-Drink. For work, at work, out with friends, it doesn't matter. St Patrick's Day and Oktoberfest is lit in WI.

Whatever decision you make, best of luck. And if you're ever in my neck of the woods I'll treat you to a butter burger and chili with spaghetti noodles.

I don't know.  WI has what Cali doesn't have and Cali has what WI doesn't have.  Depends what you like.  Your earning will balance out where you are, higher in CA for the higher cost and lower in WI for the lower cost.  We have 4 seasons here, greens everywhere, and lots of fresh water so don't need to worry about climate change, we're the least to be affected.

If you like beach, ours is equivalent to yours.  If you like oceans, our lakes will go as far as the eyes can see almost like looking into the oceans and waves crashing on the shores...

Seagulls, we have them.

I think long term, WI is a better investment.
