Moob, Hmoob, or Hmong? A word on a rock in a St. Paul peace garden divides a community. The City of St. Paul helped build the Changsha China Friendship Garden at Lake Phalen to bring people together. But the use of the term “Moob”–which comes from one Hmong dialect–stirred pushback and resentment in the community. St. Paul City Council Member Dai Thao questioned whether it was inclusive.

All because of a greeting that's now literally written on stone: "Moob Minnesota txais tog koj".

I'm not quite sure what to say about the others. But, if true, the statements made by Kong Sue Xiong about the Moob Leeg community is totally inappropriate.

It's too funny when one is a hypocrite of oneself and then people getting worked up over false information that slanders the truth.

When the world is peaceful, the warmongers will always start something.

Peb Hmong (us Hmong) we need to understand there is Hmong Dawb and Hmong Leeg, acknowledge and respect that, our differences & similarities.

"Moob" is NOT recognized...t hey need to knock that rock down and put up the correct spelling.

just use "HMONG" the English term to settle all dispute!

Moob Leeg help established the first NPO in MN to help us Hmong and Lao so just to give them credit as it deserves, written on a rock....sudden ly is now a controversy from Hmong Dawb.      Do they really want to tell the truth?  Uh oh... or should it just be done so in fairness to all written on a few rocks in both dialects.

Some people just can't be peaceful and civilized...
