The 12 rules or the 7 rules about life?

Someone has put two sets of rules about life out there. One has 7 rules; the other 12.

Some are repeated in both sets.

Which rules are better to live by, if at all?

I take the rules to be just advice though. Sun Tzu says always see how you can work things out on your own, despite any rule.
