Hmong on Social Media. Needs to Stop. Fight Me!
« on: February 23, 2023, 12:03:38 PM »
Snowed in and bored at the office. Like the lead???

Let's discuss. Who thought it was a good idea to introduce our Elders and Fam Overseas to social media?

Used to be calls from overseas in the middle of the night. Now social media is flooded with this "stuff".

Make your point.

Typical of Hmong having misplaced priorities. These elders swear up and down that they don't know how to use text or check emails. Therefore, we have to personally call them to communicate important meetings, dates, appointments, etc. But when it comes to hitting on oversea bucks and chicks, they know how to FB, Paltalk, buy their own plane ticket, upload/download Youtube vids, etc.

Can't leave people in the dark... teach them and whether they use it for good or bad, that's on them.

I praise social media for faster communications than ever.

Just 30 years ago, the only means of hearing someone's voice or seeing
a picture were: 1. cassettes and 2. the landline telephone.

The landline cost a lot of money for time on it.

The cassette recordings took two weeks to a month
to reach one another.

Now, with social media, we get to others on the
screen or on voice instantly.

Elders need to be introduced to this technology.
How they use it is still up to them.
