...and thus, causes those stores to closed down too. What's really bad is these closure not only affected the businesses but many members of society that depend on it like the elderly. But selfish "SHAMELESS" FRAUDs don't care and will just continue to have the "no big deal, the store can just write it off" idiotic mentality... :idiot2::

It’s not only NY, LA, San Francisco. Retail crime has hit a bustling Kansas metropolis

A local Victoria’s Secret lost $30,000 a month to theft, authorities say. The Cabela’s has reportedly lost more merchandise than any other in the nation. They’re not in San Francisco, Chicago or New York, the way some might assume. They’re in Wichita, Kansas.

A pattern of store thefts - not just one-off petty shoplifting incidents, but more serious planned and brazen heists from pricey luxuries to everyday products – has retailers on edge across the country. In some cities like San Francisco, retailers are closing up shop, pointing the finger at crime.

But it’s not just big coastal cities grappling with the problem. In America’s Midwest, a bustling, mid-sized metropolis, known for its rich entrepreneuria l heritage as home to both Pizza Hut and The Coleman Co. is also wrestling with the gravity and pervasiveness of retail theft.

“I’ve lived in this city my entire life and to see this much retail crime, it’s shocking,” said Captain Casey Slaughter, who is in charge of the Wichita Police Department’s property crimes bureau.

Republican Kris Kobach, Kansas’ attorney general, said retail crime is a “spiraling problem” in his state, adding that Kansas and Missouri are among the top 10 states in the nation for volume of retail crime. Kansas lost approximately $642 million in stolen goods in 2021, he said.

“People are frustrated. Store employees are frustrated,” he said in an interview with CNN.

Guess what these places have in common... Dem mayors and city council members that are soft on crimes.

Put these criminals in jail and make them paid restitution when they get out.

commonality you say?

Kaydoo people are nearby   :2funny:

What they need are cases of store security guards shooting shoplifters dead and getting away with it.  Pass them words and criminals can think twice about these petty crimes.

That will never fly... you know these soft DA will prosecute the victims instead of going after the real criminals... And these businesses will fired anyone trying to stop the thieves.
