this group of HMONG OG came to the USA back in the late 70s...
... with their parents as young kid

they went through the whole education system and work
and barely have anything in the bank to show for

i ask them what about your 401k  and pension
they told me "i thought 401k was a scam so i never put anything in it"

   

so now in their late 50s and 60s
they don't even have anything to show for..
maybe like $10,000 to $20,000 in the bank
but that's pretty much it

counting on their kids to take care of them and SSI
