Bagwell discussed his time as a gigolo/escort, which came about to pay off medical bills.

“My teeth are knocked out of my head, I’ve lost 50 pounds, and there are bills that are still coming in, and I don’t know what to do,” he recalled. “We needed money. So we made it make sense that I was going to be on this show called Gigolos and I was getting paid $25,000 to do it.”

Bagwell and his ex-wife Judy were under the impression that Buff was just going to make an appearance as a mentor. However, it turned out to be more than that.

More than he bargained for
“So we didn’t know what I was doing quite yet,” Bagwell said. “But I get all the way out there. And all of a sudden I see what I gotta do and I’m like, ‘Wait a second, what? Are you shittin’ me?'”

Judy recalled receiving a phone call where Bagwell explained that he did more than just make an appearance. When he told her that he had to do “soft porn,” she felt heartbroken. On the flip side, Bagwell didn’t actually have sex on camera but thought that he was supposed to.

“It’s sad what a human will do when you’re in such a situation like losing your house, not having food in your mouth. And we were broke, man,” Bagwell said.

From there, Buff ended up on Cowboys4Angels, a website for hiring gigolos for dates.

“It was a website that you could hire a gigolo for a date, for a weekend, for a week,” Bagwell explained. “And it was like 10, 15, 20 thousand dollars to do this. We’re trying to pay the bills and the same time, keep a marriage. And it sounds ludicrous saying it now, but when you’re in it, it all happens so fast.”

As luck would have it, Bagwell’s first date fell in love with him. He would live with her for a week to pay the bills and then return home to his wife for a week. But when Judy’s work schedule kept her away from home, he began to see the date without Judy’s knowledge. After some time, Buff informed Judy that he was leaving her.
