I'm currently using the new Shimano Crucial 7'11" H swimbait rod.  I'm pairing up the rod with my Chronarch 201B loaded with 50lb Suffix braid.  It's not the ideal swimbait reel but it holds up just fine.  I don't really like bigger reels as my hands aren't bigger enough to palm.  Maybe if I can find a Conquest 301 without having to dump a few Benjamins???

Caught this redfish last week in FL sight fishing in foot of water.  27" and 7.5 lbs.  Tasted pretty good, too. ;D

Tajo,
Glad to see you and your S/O reporting all these catches. Will have to catch up with you guys this coming year when the fishing picks up. Been living here over 10+ years and never tried out surf fishing. We're just South of you...

I agree. I had never seen Hmong people catch so many different kinds of fish before. There are those that I didn't even know existed.

I friggin HATE the aqueduct because it HATES me back lol! Which section you guys fishin? I always stop at the Kettleman City section on my way to and back from Fresno but never catch anything.  I've tossed BH swimbaits, bucktails, large rat-l-traps, flukes... Any info and tips you could help me with? Lures, presentation, water column? I'm about to start using my Lucky Craft Flashminnows if all else fails.

;D ;D It's cold out there in the Central Valley.  I didn't have anything to cove my ears so the sunthing helps insulate them.

Roc, Pointers 128 is good too later in the year when the water warms up.

Thanks AL.
