I have a fear of fishing along aquaducts, especially the ones that along the HWY 5. Never fished there but I drive by it all the time. One slip and you're into the water. It would be extremely difficult to get out once you're in. The wet walls are full of algae and extremely slippery. Don't under estimate the cold and calm water. Be extra careful when you guys are out there.

Good point you bring up here redfork. After reading this I'd consider wearing a life vest if I was fishing in this type of area.

Be safe out there brothers. O0

Yes that's very true.  We don't go all the way to the bottom.  We slide them above the high water line (you can see in the pic) then lip them.  Also if you fall in, the main thing is to stay calm, and go with the flow (don't fight it, you'll just tire yourself out) to the next bouy line or steps. There are bouy lines and steps every so often so people who falls in can get out off.  If you don't know how to swim then, a long landing net is a MUST.

Just dont step on where the water line used to be and you should be ok.  Always remember, no fish is worth dying for.

Caught it this morning on Jackall Mikey, 4lbs 15oz.  Farmed one that was a little bigger ~6 lbs that spit the hook when I crouched down to lip it.

I'm not sure, what do you mean?

The mounts don't look realistic to me(must be the dots), but then again I've never fished for stripers.  :D

That's mounter in my books, especially on the fly! Congrats on a great catch! Must've been one hell of a fight.  O0

it was a good fight... even on my 8 weight rod.
i didn't measure the girth but it was heavy heavy heavy for a 38 incher.
