The first time I fished for leo I didn't know the difference between m/f.  But I did know the size limit.  We brought one home.  It turned out to be a preggo female and we got these.

Too bad we didn't have any saltwater and they all died 15-20 mins later.

Yeah, we tried to eat the mom but didn't taste good.  I later found out that shark secrete urine through their skin when they're dying.  She was on the sand for an hr or two before we took it home.  When we got home, she was still moving.  Maybe we just didn't know how to cook it?  We just steak and deep fried it. After that we just release them.

Yeah sharks have to be bled immediately. Not just killed but bled, you cut them in the gills and string them up by the tail. The blood carries urea which has ammonia in it. You want as much to drain out as possible, then set the shark somewhere cool. The only way I really like it though is cut into finger size portions and fried with a batter for fish tacos or fish n chips.

Hmmm maybe you need to look up for a recipe on how to cook shark. Dam I would like to try shark one day. Maybe when I visit my 1st cuz in Cali, I can ask him to take me out to the Ocean to fish... LOL :) that is when I jump onto a plane and not be soooo scary cats from fear of heights.
