I've been following these vlogs:

1. kab&koobvwj lubneej
     One of their videos: https://youtu.be/M_uuO58ErsU
     * They recently got married.  I like the guy because he is hard working and he loves his wife a lot, and his wife is hard working too, and she is a sweet person.

2. Tais hli
     One of her videos: https://youtu.be/857K1zT74mw
     * Her videos aren't the best but I like her because I think that she is a strong person.

General Discussion / This song makes me so happy

AiiLA x MD x NUTDAO:  https://youtu.be/VvvQb7zTh6E

It's sounds so romantic!  I wish I understood what they were singing.  What are the lyrics???

The male singer in brown is my past imagined crush, the unicorn/wholesome fisher guy I dreamed of.  I dreamed he would look like that, come and sweep me away, and we'd live by a stream in the woods.  So much for my dreams!  But, it's still so nice to see a guy that looks like the ones I imagined in my mind so long ago.  I like wholesome looking guys that have a certain aura about them like that.

General Discussion / Dear Abby,
« on: December 29, 2021, 04:09:52 AM »
Dear Abby,

I hope you don't mind me asking your thoughts on something.  I used to like Dib Xwb because I thought she was classy and modest.  But then she started losing judgement, in my opinion.  I mean, I could be way off base.  On the other hand, she reminds me of Ariana Grande, who went from innocent and sweet to slutty and trashy as far as body image goes.  Dib Xwb became Deeda and, I mean, look at this: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=500325488126704&id=100044477704451.

She has young kids, and she has daughters.  Why would she have an onlyfans page posing in lingerie, where, her pictures leave little to the imagination at all?  I don't know where her brain went.  Or is it that she is that desperate for attention or money?  Anyway, like I said, I used to love her because I thought she had integrity and was a role model for young Hmong girls.  But she's proving to be another "expose thy body to earn a living" woman.  I feel disappointed and let down yet again by another musician that I admired.  I am fast losing respect for her.

Anyway, what do you think, Abby?  Am I wrong in my assessment of Deeda's risque pictures?

Sincerely,
Concerned

General Discussion / Best Hmong Kwvtxhiaj Songs and Instrumentals
« on: October 20, 2021, 08:06:44 PM »
I think kwvtxhiaj (a Hmong sing song type of music) is one of the most distinctive things about Hmong people.  If you have any top-notch quality ones you really like, please link the youtube video for it.  Also, Hmong people have some musical instruments that are very distinctive to our people like the ncas, the xim xaus, the Hmong flute, etc, that sound pretty and unique.  If there is a nice Hmong instrumental song you like, please link the youtube video too.  Thanks!

General Discussion / Damn, is life tough for you too?
« on: September 27, 2021, 10:13:36 AM »
Damn it, man!  Why does life have to suck for so many of us?!!!  I want to know!  Like, some people don't wake up and choose a crappy life.  Or, people don't choose to be born and suffer every day of their life!  OF COURSE! People make their own luck and their own way and create their own happiness.  BUT!  You have to admit that, for some people, the stars seem to be aligned better for them than for others.  For others, it's one shit show after the next.  It's so friggin' tiring!  I swear!

So, is life tough for you too?  If life is NOT tough for you, well, damn!  Good for you!   :P :D  If it's tough for you, tell me why and how it's tough for you.  Thanks!

Even with modern thoughts where gender equality and a good balance of 50/50 between the wife and the husband are valued, do you still summarize in the end, that the man should be the head of the family?  Or, do you think it should be the woman?  Or do you think both should be the head?

General Relationship / What do men want from their women
« on: September 02, 2021, 02:42:06 PM »
I happened upon this youtube video where a Hmong pastor was preaching to couples on Valentine's Day.  Towards the end of the video, he said that men really wants a woman who 1) listens to him and does what he says, 2) doesn't speak ahead of her husband.

#1 is fine.  Both need to listen to each other and do the things that the other person wants.

#2, though, I dunno.  I think it doesn't matter who speaks first at all.  But the pastor seems to imply that if the woman speaks first, it will make others disrespect her husband because it makes it seem like she is the head and not the husband.  I think people who think that men should always speak first before their wives at events, have a backwards mentality because, again, it doesn't matter who speaks first.  But, if one of the spouses fights to speak first all the time because of a sense of self-importance, that is super unattractive.  When someone fights to speak first or doesn't give other people the chance to speak and weigh in, they probably have an ego issue.  It doesn't matter who it is, anyone with an ego issue is unattractive.  But the general idea that the pastor was trying to convey was that women should let their men speak first at events vs them (the women) speaking first.  That's such a sexist and backwards mentality.  I don't agree with that.

General Discussion / What's happenin' with everyone?
« on: June 14, 2021, 02:34:02 PM »
So quiet on PH these days.  Wassup?

<begin rant> Anyway, who's had to go back to work?  My stupid boss made us go back into the office.  Freaking micro manager.  I think there are a lot of pros to working from home for the people that don't need to be at work.  Why force people to go in if they can get their jobs done at home?  You're polluting the air forcing people to drive in to work and decreasing people's quality of life by forcing them to breathe other people's air.  Meetings over zoom are so much better than in person. </rant>

Marriage & Family Life / Being a parent is hard work!
« on: May 31, 2021, 11:46:04 AM »
For the folks that don't have children yet, just fyi that it takes a village to raise a child.  Raising children is such hard work, if you aren't super rich already.  For example, your wealth will allow you time (that you're not giving to an employer 9+ hours a day) to dedicate to raising your children properly.  But the reality for the majority of parents is, their children miss out on quality time and having their parents being truly present when they are off of work. After work, many of us working parents are exhausted.  We just want to make dinner, eat, and go to bed. But our jobs don't end there. If we love our kids, we read to them, help them with schoolwork, and bond with them.  It takes a lot of energy to be a super mom or a super dad.  So, to the 99.99% of regular folks who work full time and are trying to raise your children at the same time, I'd like to give you two big thumbs up!!!

Imagine being a single parent working full time and trying to raise 2+ kids on your own!  It sucks so bad!  What I hate most, is the time and energy I give to an employer, when I'd rather give my time and energy to my kids.  Kids grow up so fast, you know!!!  So much of yourself you can't give to them when you are busy working to provide for them.  It really is such a bittersweet balance that you have to juggle as a working parent.

I do love the idea of mothers staying home to raise the children like in the good old days.  But the costs of living these days make it impossible for that to be sustainable.  Both parents have to work if you are not fortunate enough to have had inherit wealth from your parents or got lucky with money.

Single parents, tell me your secrets on having endless energy to be a super mom or a super dad.  I feel so disappointed in myself that my kids are growing up so fast and I can't be there all the time for them.  I hate it!!!

General Discussion / Homemade Hmong Food
« on: May 31, 2021, 11:18:23 AM »
I miss Hmong food that's made with care and love at home.  Hmong party food are the best.

I love the fresh-killed bitter beef bone soup, fresh-killed pork ribs cooked over an open fire, free range chicken with NC bamboo soup, mov nplej tshiab, zaub paj with fried pork bellies, spicy fish steamed in banana leaves, Hmong pepper dips, etc.  I don't want these things from the stores.  They never make them with love like when made at home for consumption at home.

Anybody doing Hmong home parties, invite your friend Lilly over.  I'll gladly pay for the food.   O0

Serious question.  ;D  I don't get what the appeal is with Korean male actors.  They all look gay to me!  Sorry!  They just do.  They have no facial hair, and if you were to put long hair on them, they could potentially be mistaken for girls.  Not my cup of tea.  I like my men manly looking.
