I got my hp I5 processor for $250 and that was like a year ago so good value on it at the time.  It is so cute, the hp symbol on the back of the screen lit up like an apple sign.

I say to try to get the best bang for your buck and what you really need it for.  No need to go fancy or nerdy type when all you do is go on ph.   :2funny:

My pricing was after hp rebate, I used coupons and did an old laptop (but broken) trade in.  Phew!!!

I3 processor for $400 at bestbuy

Asus K53E-RBR4 Laptop: Intel Core i3-2330M (2.2GHz), 15.6" (1366 x 768) LED, 6GB DDR3, 640GB HDD, HDMI, WiFi-N, DVDRW, Webcam, 6-Cell, Win 7 Prem

some i3 or higher processor has widi (wireless display) capability which is cool.  I go wireless to my tv, no hdmi cable needed but I have to buy a widi adapter.  They are $99 bux when it first came out.  I got it for $30 netgear brand on that one deal.

1.  I'm no computer nerd but all I can tell you is that this asus i3 is a second generation i3.  Regarding upgrade, I do not think this one max out at 6gb.   It is your job as a potential buyer to figure it out yourself.

Regarding computer and upgrades and whatnot, I see it like buying a car.  You can buy a cheap honda and load it up with upgrades for way more money but a stock mustang can still smoke it or at least hang with it at the stock level.

All depending on what kind of screen you want and how you work your laptop.  14 incher?  15 or 17?

If you have the extra money, you can go with this one here.  It is an I5 processor and I think it is a gamer lappie so I am not too sure either.

Acer Aspire TimelineX AS4830TG i5-2450M Geforce GT 540M 9 Hours Battery 14" Laptop for $629.99 on amazon which means non tax if bought from amazon supplier and free shipping.   So it is like selling price at $580 plus tax and free ship.   With an i5 processor, expect lappie in the 500 range.  If you wait awhile, there might be an i5 for you at the $450 or even at the $400 level.

use code acer2012 to knock that pricing down.

I think this one here is a better spec, bigger screen and blue ray for that same price range after you insert that same coupon from above.  These are second generation i5's....

HP Pavilion dv7t Laptop, Core i5-2430M,17.3" Full HD(1920x1080),6GB DDR3,640GB HDD,1GB AMD Radeon HD 7690M GDDR5 Graphics (HDMI),Blu-ray player & SuperMulti DVD for $649.99

http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/load_configuration.do?destination=review&config_id=7063719&aoid=35252

I might not need a new lappie but I am about to click the order button on this one myself.

This one has:
"Premium Beats audio with quad speakers and triple bass subwoofer for virtual surround sound"
and fingerprint reader so no typing in password to start this baby up.

read the specs here and cry
