HTC One
« on: August 22, 2013, 09:09:31 PM »
We have barely had this phone for two weeks and already we are having issues with it.

About two days ago, I noticed that the HTC start up screen kept flickering on and off. When I picked up the phone, it was really hot. I then noticed the condensation on the front and back camera lens. The phone was left to charge, but wouldn't charge. The battery is completely drained. We put the phone in a ziplock of rice which seemed to get the condensation out, but it's still a dead phone. When left plugged into the charger, we can turn on the phone, but it won't charge and the phone is reset every single time.

Is there something faulty with this phone? We have not dropped the phone, nor has it been exposed to water more than any other phone. (By that I mean it has been raining outside, but it hasn't been exposed to direct rain water.)

I'm feeling annoyed because now I have to take it in to see what's going on.  >:(

Probably a defect. But for sure it's broke. Take it in and have it replaced. I wouldn't mention the condensation part, as I'm sure they would probably say some how it was your fault. They'd probably ask where the condensation came from. Most phones have a small sticker inside the phone, that turns red when it's been exposed to liquids, so hopefully that has not happened.

Well, I took it in to the place where we bought it. The lady said they'd send it in to HTC to get fixed. Thank God for language barriers. I just told her the phone wouldn't charge.  :D We'll see what happens from here.

I just hope when they open it up, that the liquid sticker wasn't triggered. Good luck dear!

They didn't tell us what was wrong. When we went back, they gave us a brand new phone. (Free of charge of course.) :D

SWEET!!!!  I've had to have mine swapped as well.  My first one had one dead pixel.  They had me send mine in and they sent me a new one overnight.  The new one was used so I called and they sent me another while I sent that one back.  This one has been perfect for a few months.  Glad they took care of you!
