Double Fatal Crash In Elk Grove
Two people are dead and two others are left injured after a crash witnesses say was caused by “very high speeds” around 10:50 p.m. Friday night.
A 2010 Dodge Challenger was traveling southbound on Bradshaw Road at a very high rate of speed when it t-boned a 1992 Toyota pickup going north attempting to turn on Rogers Road.
The Challenger struck the pickup’s passenger side door. The truck caught on fire after the impact and both people in the truck were ejected and killed.
One victim has been identified at 26-year-old Molly Xiong from Sacramento.
CHP described the scene as “pretty horrific.”
The 18-year-old driver of the Challenger suffered a broken arm and his minor passenger suffered a broken right leg and face trauma. Both are expected to survive.
Charges are still pending against the driver of the Challenger. The investigation is ongoing; alcohol and drugs have not been ruled out yet.
