A 37-year-old Hatley man was charged with 14 counts Friday after an investigation into methamphetamin
e and marijuana trafficking.
Pao Yang remains in the Marathon County jail on a $125,000 cash bond.
According to a news release from the Marathon County Sheriff's Department, a traffic stop led to a search warrant of a residence at 3800 block of County Road N, in the Township of Plover which resulted in the seizure of approximately two ounces of high grade crystal methamphetamin
e and several ounces of processed marijuana. Prior to the the traffic stop court documents show Yang sold nearly $300 worth of meth to a confidential informant.
Investigators said the estimated street value of the drugs seized in the investigation exceeded $4,000. The amount of currency seized was approximately $5,000.
Investigators said Yang is on probation and was found in possession of three firearms including a handgun equipped with a silencer.
Yang will return to court Oct. 14. That's when he's expected to learn if his case will head to trial.
