Do you always have that choice? I mean, don't squirrels hit their bodies in a hole and you see only the heads with eyes looking at you?

Gotta do that with mine soon, too.

This past weekend, I already went to the woods and got the stand all fixed up. Don't wanna wait for a colder weather just a week before the shooting hours to fix the stand. I had wanted to do it in August already but didn't have the time then.

hunting is hard, man
don't aim for the head if you not going hit it
see a lot rookies shooting at every angle
and missing and scaring them squirrel away

you better off with a bodyshot
better sucess that way

I pick morels but I don't pick the other kinds. Yes, morels are expensive, taste real good, and hard to find.
I'll keep a look out when I'm in the woods but so far no luck.  Good for you.

This year is a good year for squirrel hunting in MN. Trees had plenty of nuts unlike previous years. We bag our limit in a few hours every time we go out. I'm mostly into big game but I know all the hot spots in southern MN because I hunt big game down there.

Right now is a good time
They are out collecting nuts to store and eat for the winter
Go find trees that drop nuts
And just sit and wait

They will come

Illegal to bait your game and shoot here in Cali.

A Hmong guy gave me a squirrel in an aluminum foil once.  I guess it was all skinned too.

Threw it in the freezer until spring cleaning of the freezer just to find it freezer burn.  Had to toss it away.

Haven't had the opportunity to get me a squirrel since cuz the hunting Hmong I know, they don't share.  They say to go with them if I want meat.  Maybe one day when I have the time.

Lots of deer here
I saw like 15++. Deer carcasses on a 30 miles road stretch

A lot of us Hmong here are starting to hunt for trophy type deer
We’re letting the small, female, young, etc... go
Ain’t about meat these days
More about bragging right

i don't hunt squirrels because i don't have an yearning to eat them... many of my family members who are squirrel connoisseurs don't even hunt high country squirrels... said they taste too much like pine needles... they do however prefer eastern plain squirrels where they feed primarily on acorn and corn...
