I must be the idiot who thinks the best part of a banana tree is the purple banana shoot.  We make salad out of it. 

Also they feed their pigs with everything from such tree.

Dang, you people really make me nostalgic for the motherland with your pics and words.  Someone needs to buy a piece of land here in the US and make it look like Laos and sell yummy Asian/Laos/Hmong village food.  I'll be villager #1.  I'll take the hut with the banana trees.  And I'll take fresh off the tree coconut drinks all the time.  Thanks.  O0 ;D

When I was at the US/Mex border wall, I saw a village that looked like it was built for Filipino immigrants on the San Diego with banana trees and all.. ???:
