Rising hate crime, violence against Asian Americans concerning for local Hmong leaders

La Crosse’s HMOOB Cultural and Community Agency said Friday it has received some reports of incidents targeted toward Asian Americans in our community, including eggs being thrown at a Hmong family’s home and an elderly couple being yelled at and threatened while on a walk.

“What happened at the national level is what usually happens locally as well so I’m very concerned… especially our elderly that live in the community and those that do not speak the language,” said NaoHoua Tony Yang, HCCA President.
