I heard a baby crying at night coming the woods once.  It was scary.

The sound or the fox? Foxes generally do not approach humans. However, I'm still cautious when I see them on my walks.

The crying sound may have been a fox is what my friends say.  I live by country side in NC.

I have relatives who live in the rural parts of NC.

Maybe you know them since it's expected that everybody who lives in the same state automatically knows each other.   :D
