Deebo Samual for a 5th round draft pick is not a good trade IMO:

As for the compensation, the Commanders are sending a fifth-round pick to the Niners in exchange for Samuel, per ESPN. The Washington Commanders have acquired wide receiver Deebo Samuel from the San Francisco 49ers for a fifth-round pick, pending a physical, according to a person with knowledge of the trade.

Last year, I had a future bet on the commanders to win the superbowl due to their star rookie QB.  Odds were super duper high too.  Small wager though and oh it was so close.

This year, I will buy them again because of deebo as an addition.  One man can not make all the difference but like Barkley RB going to philly, we saw how that goes.

After a disappointing 2024 season that was highlighted by key injuries on the offensive side of the ball, it’s been the same story for the San Francisco 49ers in 2025… sort of.

Injuries have decimated the offense once again, most notably with George Kittle being sent to IR (hamstring) and Brock Purdy set to miss a few weeks (turf toe). However, the 49ers have managed to start the season 2-0 and could very well be in a good situation when their stars are ready to make their return.

Week 3 offers a matchup with the Arizona Cardinals, and when it’s all said and done, one of these two teams will be 3-0 and could be sitting atop the NFC West. The fans in San Francisco and the team itself would love to be undefeated after three weeks, but at the end of the day, it’s a long season, and doing what it takes to set yourself up for success in the long run is oftentimes what’s best.

Could that include making a trade?
